The last article provided an overview of advanced coupons and its types, where one of the types mentioned was a BOGO or a Buy One Get One coupon.
Assume a business has two items X and Y. A BOGO coupon is when the amount of Y is waived off when X is part of the order.
This article will provide a detailed walkthrough for configuring these coupons in Quint.
Listed below are the steps to go about configuring these coupons.
After configuring a basic coupon, hit SAVE. You will now be able to see two sections - Edit Rules & Edit Actions
1. EDIT RULES
Edit Rules contain filters and restrictions to target only a specific customer base to avail of the coupon.
A breakdown of the different rules and parameters that can be added is elaborately explained in the article on advanced coupons.
2. EDIT ACTIONS
Edit Actions define the execution of the coupon once all the rules have been successfully applied.
- Set the action to Buy N Get N in the dropdown.
- Coupon Freebie Check should be true in the case of BOGO.
- Number of items to check — Minimum number of items where the discounted item should be present in the cart.
- Number of items to discount — Number of items where the discount should be applied.
Max no of discounts — Maximum number of discounts should be applied (can be left blank)
Error Message — A custom error message can be set if the coupon is not applicable, which would be displayed to the customer after the coupon is applied.
Ignore Item's Options — If the coupons include/exclude certain options of an item, it has to be entered here.
Items To Check — The items in this field will contain all the "Buy One" items in Buy One Get One.
In the introductory paragraph of this article, there was an example provided for two items X & Y.
The Items to Check field would contain the item X and all other items that need to be added for the coupon to be applicable.
Items To Discount — The items in this field will contain all the "Get One" items in Buy One Get One.
Again, as per the previous example, the item Y should be added in this field along with any other items that are to be given for free.
If the items added have options, they can be added in the choose options field.
